We stopped here based on the 4-1/2 star yelp rating. Wrong!! Other than the Elvis and Disney decor, it was nothing like we expected. When we arrived there was a sign on the door stating all eggs would be decreased by 1 due to cost. Meaning if the menu says 2 eggs, you really get 1 for the same price. The only other diners were a table of 2. The server was around the corner cleaning and shouted something at us without even looking up. We were talking and didn't understand what she said, so I walked over and asked - she said seat ourselves. We sat for a few minutes before she stopped and brought us menus. We finally ordered, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Another family arrived and the service just stopped. The server literally disappeared - apparently to cut watermelon for the other family. So, our coffee cups stayed empty until we were ready to leave. The honey we requested was corn syrup; the maple syrup that came with the French toast was also corn syrup (flavorless, not even sweet). Which was sad, because the French toast would have been delicious, but it was ruined by the tasteless syrup and a giant blob of margarine. The bacon was thick and cooked perfectly, but had a weird Liquid Smoke flavor. My one egg was cooked exactly as I ordered it. When the server finally appeared and refilled our coffee, she also left the check. We had never been there before and she left no directions on who/where to pay. She walked off and began cleaning again. We put our payment with the check and waited, and waited, and waited. The server was just a few feet away cleaning, but she never even acknowledged our payment. So, we decided to get up and ask where we pay. She walked over to a register, we followed, paid and left. While paying she spoke about her cleaning, how she was having to move all the booths to sweep under them and what hard work that was. This was a huge disappointment on our trip to Tucson. My tip: eat somewhere else.

We don't often go to Las Cruces for breakfast but if we are in the area this will be our place. From the decor to the continuous Elvis music this place personifies the 1950s Route 66 type diner. The photos on yelp don't do the food justice. The pancakes are absolutely monstrous - and delicious. IHOP should hang its head in shame. They overflowed the plate and took two us to eat them. My chicken fried steak was not a SYSCO preformed and frozen hockey puck, but looked and tasted like the real thing. Our Waitress was a delight - pure "Flo", and always checking on us without hovering. I am withholding the fifth star because I felt they were a little pricey on substitutions and side dishes. Not enough to stop me from going back though. They seem to have reduced their hours due to increased operating expenses. Definitely worth a trip.

I would have given a 2.5 if I could just because of the price and quality of food. I had chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns, and a short stack of pancakes. Allot of food but I wanted to try the cakes. Chicken fried steak was not homemade tasted like old grease and very very thin. I always order gravy on the side so I can judge the steak. Eggs were good and just the way I ordered them. Hash browns were also good and crispy. The cakes were fine, thick and huge but fairly tasteless. At $6.49 for 2 I expected to be blown away. Decor is nice, 50s style with music playing. Wait staff was over the top courteous. Good job waitress's!

If you like slow service, cold eggs and stale toast, this is your place. We waited for 15 min. to be seated for breakfast at 11am with plenty of seating available. Then waited another 15 min for our very simple order and everything was cold and flavorless. The servers are friendly and the decor is very old school diner but I would never eat here again.

Enjoyed Pancake Alley breakfasts the day before the Bataan Memorial Death March as well as the day after. Great pancakes and eggs, fun and hardworking wait staff and terrific cook. We'll be back.

LOVE this place. Great food. Huge portions and wonderful cooks and waitstaff. We love coming here for breakfast. The lunch menu is great too, but we go for the breakfast. Prices are a bit steep but for the amount you get, it soothes the burn.

Best post-Bataan Memorial Death March breakfast! The pancakes are fabulous and the servers and cooks are super friendly! We'll be back next year!

Two stars because the Pancake was REALLY GOOD! my scrambled eggs tasted more like an omelet, and my husbands eggs were oily. The grapefruit juice looked like Kool aid, and tasted more like and artificial drink that real juice. 3rd star because the staff is very friendly and service was quick.

Although the food is decent and the atmosphere is fine, the cost of the meal's unnecessarily high. For example, my son ordered the #24, one Belgian waffle, two scrambled eggs two pieces of bacon. This cost $10 and, for a carnivore who loves all meat, he couldn't stomach the bacon. It was too expensive and the service was less than average. The server finally came to check on how our meal was after we finished and pushed away our plates. Not really good timing. We probably won't go because of all issues.

Probably one of my favorite local diners in Las Cruces. They serve giant delicious pancakes and great breakfast and lunch menus. When you feel like having a good home tasting meal, i recommend coming here.

Ate here twice during Bataan Memorial Death March weekend. Great food, large portions and terrific prices. The wait staff were great but could have used more help for the breakfast rush. Super friendly though. If you are in Las Cruces, worth the trip. Perfect post-march recovery dining!!

Food was ok. Prices are very steep, I didn't get that, nothing special or different then other places in town. $7.99 for chips and salsa? I thought it was a misprint. Doesn't matter if salsa is made fresh and so are tortillas. Lots of restaurants in town do that and give them to you for free.. $7.99? The service was ok, waitress seemed a little scatter brained and preoccupied with her family and not attentive to customers. Prices just way too high otherwise I would go back.

We have been to the Pancake Alley twice. The first time I was satisfied with the food. Second time my food was still good. However, on the second visit, we actually went with two friends. He ordered a Belgian waffle and added nuts, fruit and ice cream. His meal was good, BUT he was charged $9.00 for the additions. He was not told anything about the price of the add ons until the bill arrived. We still laugh about that costly breakfast and we will probably not go back again. The diner atmosphere is fine.

Good coffee, attentive waitress, and my omelet--I got the "John Wayne"--was great.

My family and I love Pancake Alley Diner! The retro feeling diner has a huge breakfast option that includes eggs, bacon, sausage, ham and pancakes. Not for the faint of heart, but incredibly delicious. Add pecans to the pancakes for a real treat!! Other smaller, tasty meals are also spot on. Pancake Alley really nails the diner style restaurant motif. Fun atmosphere and great diner food!!

the atmosphere is better than the food...stopped here the day the highway was closed (stranded in las cruces) coffee is not very good, food is minimal and expensive...try some place else

This retro, 50's style diner is now my favorite breakfast joint in Las Cruces. Great service (Michelle)! We ordered: - Omelette served with hash browns and toast. - Kid's breakfast: Pancakes, eggs, and bacon for only $2.49--and it was enough to fill up an adult. - Garden salad with a hearty veggie soup. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and the omelette was pretty rich and filling....coated with just the right amount of cheese. I could eat all this again right now... Great find for me!

We eat there from time to time since it is on the way home. Another reviewer commented on the flies-well they are not as bad as Quacamoles but, in season, they are present at any small diner. The food is decent to very good. The service varies with who is working but usually is good. When they first opened an Anglo could not get service-period. However, we are persistent. Breakfast is great. Friday's fish dinner is good too.

I am not joking when I say that the best pancakes live here. Crispy on the edges, fluffy on the inside, pure hot cake happiness. The rest of our breakfast was decent, standard eggs, hash browns, and sausage links. Good diner food. The gal running around as the only front of house person was friendly and attentive, and kept the coffee coming. But seriously, go get some pancakes.

Here's my problem, they think too highly of themselves as a restaurant. Every time we go, their prices seem to go up! Not even by a decent amount, but a ridiculous amount! They recently said there was a shortage in eggs, shorting everyone by one egg or making you pay double. No other breakfast place knew of this, because they weren't affected. Neither was pancake alley, but they still go making it seem relevant. Food is decent, but not worth the money.
